LAST MINUTE HALIFAX VENUE CHANGE: Tonight’s Halifax show has been moved to North St Church @ 5657 North Street. We go on at midnight. Border wouldn’t let us play otherwise. Just made it into Canada after they charged us lots of money and had to move the show. Arg.

Murder By Death and The Builders and The Butchers are happy to announce an art contest for the Seven Series split 7″ coming out this summer on MBD’s label Tent Show Records. For this release, MBD has covered The Builders and The Butchers song “In The Branches” and TBATB have covered MBD’s “Until Morale Improves The Beatings Will Continue”. Also, Ray from TBATB has a one-man band called “Mission Operation” where he makes music on Nintendo Gameboys, and he has done Gameboy covers of “Ball and Chain” by MBD “Down in this Hole” by Builders and The Butchers. AWESOME. All Four tracks will be on the 7″.

If you’re an artist and would like to participate in this contest, please submit a 7″ by 7″ 300 DPI PSD of your art and email it to mbdband@gmail.com . Your submission can have as little or as much information as you want. Deadline for submissions is May 25th. MBD will pick one design and TBATB will pick a second one for the B-Side.

Tha Prize

The two winning artists will each receive all 5 MBD albums on vinyl, all 3 TBATB albums on vinyl, and 5 copies of the split 7″ with their lovely art on it, with a letter of praise from MBD that will surely get them into all the finest salons in Paris and Berlin, due to our extreme prominence in the 1920s art world.

Other 7″s and new merch can be bought HERE.

Sorry to everyone who was planning to attend the Paris show. The last few days have been a nightmare. Our GPS broke down, we got lost in Prague, and finally our van broke down on the side of the road north of Paris. We are getting a new van today so the tour will continue as planned, but alas, it was too late to make the Paris show. We promise to return soon, and triumphantly.
